The start sucks and 1 small mistake in the middle, but I'm satisfied enough with this. I have a strat that should get sub 3 if executed properly and everything goes right, but it requires resetting for flame Teo only. I'll probably grind that out later. This matchup is super boring because he doesn't have a weakspot on his entire body until you use clutch claw. Old gen Zin was way more interesting for hammer. I'm still not confident this is the right set to use, and got this one after I dropped a point of handicraft to see if that would be feasible. Some sloppy stagger tracking in the middle cost me ~10 seconds probably, but pretty good AI overall. I'll grind it to low 4 later! This is the G5 Boltreaver quest. I wanted to do a Guild run, and Zinogre is one of my favorite matchups for it! Unfortunately, Thunderlord can get so big that it makes it very difficult to land hits on the head other than golfswing, so I went with this quest because it's always gold crown small and I don't have to deal with aggressive small monsters on the other quests... Can be much faster with cleaner play and a limp stop. Maybe even sub 4, but I'm not willing to waste all this beta time when I could be messing around with new tricks for other weapons. Clutch claw is extremely OP for hammer. How do you decide when to use the homerun combo and when to use the big bang?
Generally I decide based on how slow or fast i am at getting to the head, or based on if I am at yellow sharpness or not. The homerun will do 40-50% reduced damage if you don't sweet spot it when at yellow sharpness, so big bang is safer. Also big bang deals less KO damage than homerun combo, so if its close to getting KO'd then I will big bang so I don't waste the knockdown.
